Over eight weeks you will build the practical knowledge hospitality employers look for: food service standards, customer care, safety and professional working practice, alongside interview preparation and job search skills.
Ideal if you are looking to start or restart a career in restaurants, hotels, catering, food service or customer facing work. No previous experience needed.
Hospitality is one of London's largest employers, and it is a sector where attitude and reliability open doors quickly. This eight-week programme gives you the recognised qualification employers expect, the practical knowledge to work confidently in a busy service environment and the employability skills to present yourself well at interview. It is fully funded through the Greater London Authority Adult Skills Fund, so there is nothing to pay.

Eligibility, you must
- Be aged 19 or over
- Live in a London borough
- Have the right to live and work in the UK (sponsored and skilled worker visas are not eligible)
- Not already hold a qualification at Level 2 or above in hospitality or catering
- Be able to attend Monday to Thursday, 09:30 to 16:00, for the full eight weeks

Where it can take you
Roles this course can lead to include front of house and waiting staff, kitchen assistant and catering assistant, barista and bar staff, hotel and events service roles and customer service positions across the wider hospitality sector. Study Academy's team works with employers across London and learners who complete the course, engage well and show the right attitude may be introduced to relevant opportunities as they arise. Yes. Both courses are funded through the Greater London Authority Adult Skills Fund. There is no fee and no loan.
Do I need any qualifications to apply?
No formal entry qualifications are required. You will have a short conversation with our team before enrolment to make sure the course is right for you.
What if I am working?
You can apply if you are employed, self-employed or unemployed, as long as you meet the other criteria and can commit to the timetable.
Can I apply if I live outside London?
No. This funding is for London residents only. If you live elsewhere, we may be able to point you to funded provision in your area or to one of our commercial courses.
What if I already have a qualification in this subject?
The funding rules mean you cannot already hold a qualification at the same level or above in the same subject area. If you are unsure, apply anyway and our team will check with you.
Will I get a job at the end?
We cannot promise a job or an interview. What we can promise is that you will finish with a recognised qualification, employability training and a team that works with employers and will help you take the next step.
